As the demand for Alberta beef skyrockets globally, these associations are turning to the Feeder Associations Loan Guarantee Program (FALGP) for support.
The FALGP is a fantastic initiative that offers low-interest loans backed by government guarantees, allowing producers to keep up with rising prices. Recently, the program's funding limit was increased from $150 million to $225 million to support more farmers and ensure they have the resources needed to thrive.
This program has been crucial for Alberta's agricultural community since its inception in 1936, providing over $12 billion in loans. With increasing cattle prices, the boost in funding means our 45 feeder associations can access the financial support they urgently need to sustain their operations and contribute to our booming beef industry.
