Celebrating Heroes: Saskatchewan's Protective Services Medal Recipients

Today, we celebrate the remarkable individuals honored with the Saskatchewan Protective Services Medal! During a heartwarming ceremony, Lieutenant Governor Bernadette McIntyre and Provincial Secretary Jamie Martens presented medals to those who have dedicated over 25 years to keeping our communities safe.

These heroes come from various protective services, including police, fire, and the Canadian Armed Forces. They are the unsung pillars of our community, working tirelessly every day. This year, a total of 149 individuals were recognized for their exemplary service.

The medals themselves are beautifully designed, featuring St. Edward's Crown and the motto Qui civitatem tuentur, which translates to “who guard the citizenry.” Such a fitting tribute to those who go above and beyond!

In addition to today’s ceremony in Saskatoon, remember that two other ceremonies were held in Regina just a week earlier. Want to know more about how to nominate someone deserving for this honor? Check out saskatchewan.ca/honoursawards for more details!
