Improving Dialysis Services in Southern Alberta

Exciting news for residents of southern Alberta! The government is making a big investment in health care by expanding the renal dialysis unit at Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge.

With a whopping $22 million earmarked over the next three years, this project aims to make sure that those suffering from chronic kidney disease can receive the life-saving dialysis they need, when they need it.

The new dialysis unit will help tackle overcrowding by adding 28 hemodialysis stations and two airborne isolation rooms. Plus, four new examination rooms will provide extra space for family consultations and support services.

Alberta is also enhancing cardiac and intensive care services, investing an additional $5 million for new facilities that include a cardiac catheterization lab and more hospital beds.

By focusing on expanding healthcare in southern Alberta, the province is ensuring that every Albertan has access to timely and essential medical care. It's all about better health and quality of life!
