Celebrating Caregivers: Making a Difference Every Day

Every October, we take a moment to appreciate the incredible work of kinship and foster caregivers. These dedicated individuals open their hearts and homes, creating lasting memories and a safe haven for many children and youth.

In Alberta, there's a vibrant community of over 2,100 kinship caregivers and 1,400 foster caregivers who strive to keep young people connected to their culture and community. This month, let’s highlight their selfless contributions!

To support these amazing caregivers, the government is investing more than $11 million over the next three years. This funding will enhance support services like counseling sessions and programs designed to help families interested in becoming foster caregivers. Plus, there's also over $3 million this year aimed at increasing financial rates for caregivers!
