Exciting Changes to Canada's Work Permits for Graduates!

Great news for international students in Canada! The Canadian government has made some exciting changes to the eligibility for Post-Graduation Work Permits (PGWP).

On June 25, the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) introduced new fields of study that can now lead to a PGWP, reflecting the current labor market needs. A total of 119 new programs are included, but also some have been removed.

If you've applied for your study permit after November 1, 2024, make sure to check if your program qualifies. Programs in Healthcare, Education, and Trades are newly eligible, so you're in luck if you're studying in those fields!

If you submitted your application before June 25, 2025, don’t worry! You can still qualify for a PGWP based on the eligibility list at that time.
