Why Mexico, you ask? Well, it's Alberta's fourth-largest trading partner and has a booming export market. In fact, last year, trade between Alberta and Mexico reached nearly C$2.9 billion!
During her trip, Premier Smith will meet with key industry leaders and government officials to discover how Alberta can work alongside Mexico for mutual benefit. This visit marks the first time a Premier has visited Mexico since 2019, and it's a big step towards creating jobs and fostering growth in both regions.
With top exports like meat and energy and imports ranging from machinery to fresh fruits, thereβs so much potential for collaboration.
